Yak Legend nominated for DAME Award 2008
Yak Legend paddling cag has been nominated by the jury for DAME Award 2008, in category 5, Clothing and Crew Accessories.
The new Legend cag is a major step forward for Yak, taking into consideration 15 years of experience in the design & manufacture of paddling gear. Part of a complete re-design of Yak’s paddling cag range, the Legend has been created following extensive research and development to meet the demands of the most hardcore paddlers worldwide. And with its two colourways, Brown/Yellow or Camouflage, the Legend is leading the way in the fashion stakes too!
The Legend uses a revolutionary 4-way stretch breathable fabric technology offering extreme comfort and performance. The product also incorporates a 3-way articulated sleeve system, providing extreme flexibility & comfort to the demanding user.
The Yak symbol is a widely recognised mark within the paddling world. This is why Yak have created a unique Camouflage fabric print design, incorporating the Yak trade mark. The Yak mark is also included in a stylish stamp print on the back.
Every last detail and feature of the design has been carefully thought through to increase the comfort and functionality of the product:
• zip garages that hide the zip pulls out of the way of snagging and catching
• moulded zip pulls for increased strength with a trendy 3D Yak logo
• unobtrusive/discreet labeling system without compromising the fabric’s integrity
• moulded waist band pullers for ease of donning, with the words Yak and Aventure moulded into them adding brand identity and that extra bit of flair
• fabric logo printed onto the left arm to reinforce its features
• fabric information printed on the swing tag
These factors combine to make the Legend arguably the most technically advanced extreme paddling garment available today.
The DAME (Design Award METS) is recognised as the world’s most prestigious design competition for new marine equipment and accessories, ever since its introduction in 1991. The winners will be announced during a special breakfast meeting on the 18th November during METS Exhibition in Amsterdam.
